Alternate Member, State of Texas, Royalty Policy Committee

Jerry Strickland is an alternate member of the Department of Interior’s Royalty Policy Committee, and as a member of this committee advises Secretary Zinke “on policy and strategies to improve management of the multi-billion dollar, federal and American Indian mineral revenue program.”

Jerry Strickland graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1995 with a B.A. in Journalism. From 1996 to 2003, he worked as “a reporter and anchor for CBS and ABC news affiliates in Texas and other states.” Next, Strickland served as Director of Communications for then-Attorney General Greg Abbott, and from 2003 to 2015 served as Abbott’s “spokesman and advisor.” Strickland is currently the Executive Director of the Texas Office of State-Federal Relations, a position to which he was appointed to by “Gov. Greg Abbott in January 2015, confirmed by the Texas Senate in March 2015.” Strickland also owned coffeeshop BikeCaffee Austin for three years, which on his LinkedIn he describes as “Coffee with a purpose, coffee with character.”
